For over 40 years, Mr. Freedman has been practicing personal injury law, with a special emphasis on medical malpractice.
Mr. Freedman has worked on claims involving mental health professionals for over 20 years. His handling of the case of Davis v. Lhim established the "duty to warn" on the part of psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers.
Freedman has been a lecturer at MTLA seminars; the Oakland County Bar, where his video on mediation was used as a guide to prospective mediators; the Michigan Psychiatric Society and the Michigan Adjusters Association. He has appeared on television on "Due Process" discussing consumer issues and personal injury.
Mr. Freedman chaired the Oakland County Circuit Court Committee and its committee on ADR. In addition, Freedman served for a number of years on the State Bar Negligence Section on its committee study of governmental immunity.
In the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Mr. Freedman has been an arbitrator, facilitator and case evaluator since the inception of these programs.
As a trial lawyer, Mr. Freedman has tried cases in many Michigan counties and Federal courts.
Mr. Freedman is or has been a member of the State Bar, Oakland County Bar Association, Macomb County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, A.C.L.U. and the National Lawyers Guild. |
